Doggy Wander Walk
Saturday, 12 April 2025
The Festival's only dog focused walk! Get together at 9.30am at Lawrence Oliver Dog Park before heading off at 10am to explore the Te Ara Kahikatea Pathway, the pathway travels alongside Te Puke Highway, follows the Waiari Stream and heads around the Te Puke dog shelter and wastewater plant via a boardwalk and returns under the railway line to the northern end of Lawrence Oliver Park.
The route covers former grazing and wetland and has been planted with a mix of exotic natives such as kahikatea, manuka, pohutukawa, rimu, totara, flax plants and 250 tenax flaxes.
The knowledgeable Western Bay of Plenty District Council Animal Services Team will be your walk lead on the day passing on lots of tips and tricks.
This walk is family friendly and all about giving dog owners some events just for them – where they can bring their dogs to socialise safely and have a good time exploring our beautiful walks at the same time.
And everyone gets a special doggy treat bag to take home!
